What We Believe
ABOUT GOD
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are co-equal and are one God. The Son, being Jesus Christ, co-equal with the Father, lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He rose from the grave three days later and ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father. He will return someday to reign as King of Kings.
ABOUT THE BIBLE
The Bible is God's Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it has salvation for its end and is truth without any mixture of error.
ABOUT SALVATION
Salvation is God's free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works but only by trusting Jesus Christ as God's gift of forgiveness. We must confess our sins and repent and turn from our selfish life and turn to Jesus in faith that we may be saved. Once you are saved, you are saved for eternity and if you have been genuinely saved, you cannot lose your salvation. It is maintained by grace and the power of God.
ABOUT THE CHURCH
A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a local body of baptized believers who are associated by their common faith and fellowship with Jesus. The local church observes two ordinances: (1) baptism and (2) the Lord's Supper. Baptism is by full immersion in water symbolizing the death and resurrection to new life Jesus brings. The Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience in remember the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ. We remember his death and anticipate his coming.

The Team
Ryan Buck
Senior Pastor
Pastor Ryan grew up at Immanuel and after following the Lord into marriage, seminary, and ministry, he returned after 20 years to serve as Senior Pastor in June of 2020. Ryan has been married to Rachel for 18 years, which has produced 4 children, earned a MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has served in churches across Texas. He loves fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.

Mike Baker
Associate Pastor
Mike Baker was born and raised in Odessa, Texas. He was saved and baptized at age 10. He attended Howard Payne University receiving two degrees: B.S. Computer Science, and B. A. in Applied Psychology. This is where he met the love of his life – Libby. He then attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and received a M.A. Religious Education. Mike and Libby have two sons, Tyler and Grant. Mike has always served in student ministry, FBC Collinsville, North Richland Hills Baptist Church, FBC Mineral Wells, Shady Oaks Baptist Church, Hurst, and Northside Baptist Church, Victoria. Mike joined the staff of Immanuel Baptist Church in January of 2021 and serves as Pastor of Students and College. He loves camping in Colorado and spending time with family and friends.

Scott Farris
Hope Pastor
Scott grew up in San Angelo and attended Baptist Temple where he accepted Christ at the age of 8. He graduated high school at Lakeview where he met Penny and they were married in 1984. They have 3 Children and 2 Grandchildren. Scott joined the San Angelo Fire Dept. in ’92 and became a firefighter/paramedic serving our community for over 24 yrs. Before retiring in 2016 as Assistant Chief. Scott is a certified public management graduate from Texas State University. He was a servant to Christ throughout his career. Scott became a member of IBC in 2012 and joined the IBC staff in 2019.

Family/College Pastor
Brian and Haley have lived in San Angelo for 20 years ministering to the community. They love serving our church family and community. Brian and Haley have 6 children.

Kevin Scott
Worship Minsiter
Kevin grew up at Immanuel so he was engaged in every ministry possible from Sunday School as a little dude, to playing music in youth, to acting in drama, to then teaching youth himself and playing music in “big church”. He grew up in San Angelo and graduated from Lake View High School and then Angelo State University where he received a Master of Arts in Mathematics. He went to work for Town & Country Food Stores (now Stripes) in 1994 and still works there today bi-vocationally in the IT department. Kevin married Kimberly at Immanuel in 1992. They have two kids, Kasey and Kyla. Kevin loves to sing and make loud music to King Jesus.
