I surrendered to the ministry at the age of 16 while living and attending high school in Cisco,
Texas. My dad was a pastor of a small Baptist church in Cisco and supported my decision
to surrender to the ministry.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayland Baptist University where I also played
baseball for the Pioneers. During my junior year, I was blessed to meet the wonderful woman
who would become my wife. Dawn and I were married on June 3rd, 2000 and had our first
child, Jackson, on March 27th, 2002. We have added two daughters to the family. Leah is
our daughter we adopted in 2011. Kendyl Grace came to us on January 4th, 2012.
I began my coaching and teaching career in Cotton Center, Texas, where I also began
helping with the youth program at FBC Cotton Center. After three years in Cotton Center,
our little family moved to Garden City, Texas, where I was teaching and coaching and Dawn
was commuting to Coahoma. With the help of some great friends, Dawn and I started a
community-wide Youth Ministry in Garden City.
After two years, Dawn and I were called to Rankin, where we have served for five years.
We both taught in the Rankin ISD, while I also served as the Youth Minister at FBC, Rankin.
I became an ordained minister in 2009 and began attending Southwestern Theological
Seminary in 2010.
We are very excited about our opportunity to serve at Immanuel and lead the youth in their
journey as believers in Christ.
