Welcome to the IBC Family Nursery
BIRTH - 24 MONTHS
We welcome you and your baby to the IBC Family Nursery. Our nursery is for infants and toddlers up through 24 months. The IBC Family has a wonderful NURSERY MINISTRY area that is child-friendly and staffed with caring workers who provide a warm, loving atmosphere for our preschool children during regularly scheduled church activities.

Here at IBC, we believe a child is never too young to learn the basic truths of Jesus Christ. Our focus is memorization and repetition, with various ways for telling the Bible stories. By creative teaching through the use of blocks, arts and crafts, and other various activities, children will learn and memorize verses and stories in a fun and exciting environment.

Safety
IBC fully believes in safety and protection of children. When entering the Preschool Ministry area (located behind the main hallway of the building), every child is signed in and a parent card is given and required for pick up by the parent.

All teachers, workers, volunteers, and youth encouragers working on our Preschool Ministry team are required to attend a Child Abuse Prevention Training every two years. They undergo reference checks, background checks, and, if necessary, interviews.

We at IBC love children. It is our desire that you allow us the opportunity to teach and share the love of God in their young hearts and minds.

When packing a diaper bag for your child, please include the following items:

  • 2-3 disposable diapers (no cloth diapers, please)
  • a complete change of clothes
  • bottle of milk, formula, juice or water (this is good practice even for mothers who nurse)

Please label all personal items (including pacifiers and sippee cups) with your child's first and last name before arriving at your child's class. This greatly helps us keep track of your child's items.

Check-in Procedures
A Nursery leader will meet you at the door to receive your child, diaper bag and any other necessary items. Please note on the sign-in sheet any information that will help in caring for your child, such as feeding times,
sleeping times, allergies and special needs.

At the time of check-in, a Nursery leader will apply an adhesive nametag to your child's back with his/her name on it, and label the diaper bag.

After you have completed the check-in process, simply wave goodbye and leave for the worship service or your Sunday School Class. As you know, it is normal for little ones to cry when a parent leaves. this does not last long, and separation becomes easier over time. Our leaders will immediately create interest in a toy or activity and give assurance that you will return. if your child cries for an extended period of time, we will come get you.

Pick-up Procedures
A parent card is given and required for pick up by the parent.

Please make sure that all of your child's personal items have been returned to you before you leave the premises. Lost and found items will be retained for a short time.

Baby Dedication

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

Once a year, a special baby dedication service is held for parents of babies born during that year.

This service provides the parents a time of committing themselves to bringing up their baby in the ways of the Lord.
