First Visit
Walking into a new church environment-regardless if you’ve had any previous experiences with churches in the past-can be quite intimidating.
A million questions run through our minds filtered through certain preconceptions: “Will I fit in? Will I know where to go? Will I look stupid if I don’t? Will they judge me? Will anyone even speak to me?”
What to Expect
You can expect smiling greeters at the doors, comfortable seats, great music, relevant messages, and people just like you.
When should I get there?
Worship begins at 11:00am. In order to get settled in the worship service before it begins, you should plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before the service time. If you have preschoolers or children to get settled, you should arrive about 15 minutes before the service starts. The rest rooms are located back in the hallway behind the Sanctuary.
What should I wear?
Most people at IBC dress for comfort. There is no official attire. Some people wear more traditional clothing - dresses and suits. However, you will find many people in every service wearing jeans.
Do my kids go to the worship service with me?
Yes, they can. However, we believe the best option is for your younger children to participate in the age-appropriate programming provided just for them.
IBC has a wonderful PRESCHOOL Ministry area located just behind the Sanctuary for infants - 4 year olds during regularly scheduled church activities. If you do take your younger child to the worship service, please be considerate of other worshipers and the potential for younger children to become bored and disruptive in worship.
